The notes
I collect places the way some people collect art. These are spots in Seoul and on trips elsewhere that I have actually been to, written up with what I saw and felt there. I look for the places a neighborhood keeps coming back to even when nobody writes about them, and for well known places where the everyday life of the area still shows.
If you are visiting, this is everyday Seoul. If you live here, it is a way to see a familiar city again.

Where I come from
I liked Seoul enough to settle here, and after more than fifteen years of living and working in the city I am still learning how different each neighborhood feels.
I once wanted to be an architect, then an artist. I started my working life wanting to invest in good companies, and a few startups later I got curious about how a business is built and run. So when I visit a place now, I look at the room and at how the place works, not just the menu.
How I look at a place
On trips I try to see a city the way the people who live there do, and to find where they eat and drink on an ordinary evening. Then I go one step further and look at the place from several angles at once: the area it sits in, its surroundings, the culture around it, and the company that built it.
I hope the Seoul and travel notes here help you see a place from more than one side, and enjoy it more for that.
